FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fort Lauderdale, FL, February 28, 2011 – Resolve Maritime Academy (Academy), a subsidiary of RESOLVE Marine Group, Inc. (RESOLVE), announced the expansion of its maritime safety course offerings, and plans for the opening of a new Simulation Training Center in early 2012. The Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Resolve Maritime Academy is RESOLVE’s maritime training division, specializing in shipboard fire, safety and hazardous materials response training. The Academy offers maritime certification courses for cruise line, tanker and cargo vessel personnel and private yacht crew.

The Academy  is the only maritime training facility which  incorporates actual in-house emergency response experience into the curriculum, thus adding a level of realism and practical experience unmatched by other training facilities.  Academy instructors have responded to many vessel fires and worked on numerous salvage and recovery jobs and special projects undertaken by RESOLVE, and bring hands-on relevant experience to the courses they teach.

At the heart of the Academy training program is the T/V Gray Manatee, a 140' LOA shipboard firefighting simulator designed specifically for marine firefighting training.  The fully compartmentalized vessel simulator has over 20 separate compartments, connected by  horizontal and vertical passageways. Additionally, the multiple watertight doors and hatches, an engine room complete with a marine power plant, galley, catwalks, and other features provide the student with a challenging training environment.

In addition to an array of course offerings, and in response to industry demand, the Academy works with clients to meet specific training needs, such as:

Mobile training team (Classroom at client’s site/practical at Resolve’s Fire Fighting Trainer)
Customized classroom/practical instruction (To satisfy client Standard Operating Procedures)
On-board training (Basic & Advance Firefighting, CPR/1stAid/AED, Train the Trainer)
Shipboard inspections (Fire Hazards & Assessments)
Review and development of Shipboard Fire Fighting Procedures

Since its inception, the Academy has grown to become a world-renowned institution that is a Det Norske Veritas Certified Marine Training Center utilizing the ISO-9000 guidelines.
In addition to Det Norske Veritas, Resolve Maritime Academy is approved or certified by numerous internationally recognized agencies including the United States Coast Guard, UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency, and the Norwegian Maritime Directorate.  All Academy programs are administered through a rigorous Total Quality Management program.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

Resolve Maritime Academy is focused on the future training needs of maritime industry clients. Its proximity to Port Everglades and the ports of Miami and Palm Beach position the Academy to expand training offerings to meet the needs of the marketplace.  For example, in the area of safety training, the Academy will add a Mass Evacuation System Course to be offered at Port Everglades.

In addition to safety training, the Academy will open a new Simulation Training Center in early 2012 featuring a state-of-the-art suite of simulators and classroom facilities, combined with “industry leading Maritime Human Factors Training”.  The Training Center will be located at RESOLVE’s new corporate headquarters, adjacent to Port Everglades.

The Simulation Training Center will initially house two DNV certified Class ‘A’ Full Mission Bridge Simulators, which offer training including:

Full Mission Bridge Simulator Training;
Bridge Resource Management (BRM) Engine Resource Management (ERM) training, with or without simulation;
Communication & leadership development for all ranks and employees;
