The Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA), in partnership with the Resolve Marine Group, held a two day Crisis Response Training course earlier this week. Over forty members from across the maritime community, including representatives from bunker suppliers, shipping agents, emergency services, the Environment Department, MOD, law firms and other Government ministries and agencies attended. There was also representation from the Ports of Algeciras and Tangiers.
The training event provided attendees with an opportunity to benefit from Resolve’s wealth of experience in dealing with major maritime incidents across the globe, whilst also providing a forum for detailed discussions on related issues and challenges, and culminated in a realistic scenario-based exercise.
Commodore Bob Sanguinetti, CEO and Captain of the Port, said: “This training course is a further example of the GPA, together with our maritime partners, reviewing and refining our plans and procedures to ensure we are best placed to deal with unforeseen incidents in our busy waters.”
