FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Left and Right) Fifteen foot swells continue to batter the stranded dredge
Puerto Limon, Costa Rica- Nov. 20th, 2008
Resolve Marine Group, Inc. was activated on November 20, 2008 to send a Salvage Team to Costa Rica to make a fuel transfer and refloat the stranded dredge. The vessel broke free of its anchorage during rough weather that saw swells reach 5 meters.
(Left) The vessel is being pushed onto the rocks; (Right) Heavy seas continue to surround the site of the casualty
Resolve’s team continues to battle rough seas that have made the project difficult at times. Dive surveys and defueling operations are underway and the team is testing all of the vessels compartments by dewatering and/or inducing air into them.
The salvage team is led by Salvage Masters Frank Leckey and Rich Habib, Salvage Officer Ray Fortin, Project Coordinators Eric Shelley and Clay Backus, and Divers Mike Carista, Andrew White, and Bill Rittenhouse.
