WESTERHAVEN

Belize City, Belize; Salvage – Container ship WESTERHAVEN (8,450 dwt) ran aground a coral reef off the coast of Belize en route to Guatemala. RESOLVE and partner SVITZER successfully refloated the vessel.

SEAWITCH

Baltimore, MD; Wreck Removal – Resolve successfully performed the remediation and refloating of the SEAWITCH, a 446′ derelict vessel which was used to store oil during the scrapping of naval ships in Baltimore Harbor.

CATTLEYA

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Salvage – Hopper/Suction Dredge CATTLEYA (2,470 dwt) was left stranded ashore in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica after heavy seas broke her free of her moorings. Foul weather turned the salvage project into a wreck removal project.

ISLAND INTREPID

Miami, FL; Salvage – General Cargo ISLAND INTREPID (2,174 dwt) ran hard aground while navigating within Government Cut, Port of Miami. Vessel was successfully refloated less than 24 hours after the incident.

TEXAS CLIPPER

Brownsville, Texas; Reefing – RESOLVE remediated and prepared this 473′ training vessel from Texas A&M University for sinking as an artificial reef. All hazardous materials were removed including lead paint, asbestos, PCB’s, mercury, etc. while removing and preserving unique items of historical value for the University. The vessel was made “diver safe” and prepared for sinking. The vessel was successfully laid to rest

WHITE SEA

Staten Island, NY; Salvage – Oil Tanker WHITE SEA (98,929 dwt), en route to Singapore, ran aground off of Coney Island, NY when it lost steering. RESOLVE lightered the vessel and refloated it. The USCG described the response as an “ideal” salvage plan.

TAURACAVOR

Offshore North Carolina; Tow – Dredge TAURACAVOR 50 miles offshore Cape Fear. RESOLVE was engaged by vessel owners to remove fuel and other pollutants from dredge TAURACAVOR.

MONTROSE

Chesapeake, MD; Salvage – Bulk Carrier MONTROSE ran aground in Chesapeake Bay, MD with a full load of coal. RESOLVE successfully refloated the vessel after lightering was performed.

MARIELLE BOLTEN

Dominican Republic; Salvage – 800′ multipurpose general cargo vessel laden with steel products stranded at the entrance to Puerto Plata during adverse weather conditions. RESOLVE and JV partners, Svitzer Salvage, lightered approximately 5,000 tons and refloated the vessel. She was stabilized and towed to Freeport, Bahamas where salvors coordinated the offloading of the full cargo prior to redelivering the vessel to her owner on the dry dock.

ex-ORISKANY

Corpus Christi, Texas; Reefing – a 900′ decommissioned US Navy Essex Class aircraft carrier. RESOLVE along with a partner company, accomplished the complete remediation of the vessel using a staff of over 150 personnel. Work included accessing and cleaning over 500 tanks and the removal of a large quantity and variety of hazardous materials including lead paint, PCB’s asbestos, etc. The RESOLVE team towed the carrier to Pensacola, Florida where final preparations were made by RESOLVE to sink the vessel off of Pensacola. Ex-Oriskany became an artificial reef on May 17, 2006.

CLIPPER LASCO

Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Salvage – 600′ bulk carrier laden with bauxite ore grounded off Port Everglades, Florida. RESOLVE and JV partner, Svitzer Salvage, lightered approximately 2,500 tons of her cargo and refloated her with tug assistance.

LA MARIE

Sabine Pass, Texas; Salvage – Offshore tug contacted a submerged object, capsized and sank 30 miles offshore Sabine Pass, Texas. RESOLVE removed over 100,000 gallons of diesel fuel, refloated and stabilized the capsized vessel prior to towing her into Sabine Pass. Once in the sheltered port, RESOLVE crews with the assistance of two derrick barges righted the vessel. She was then towed to Morgan City and redelivered to her owner.

MYKALI

SW Pass, Mississippi; Salvage – Panamax bulk carrier was refloated at Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River. The vessel grounded in soft mud and had considerable settling. With the assistance of 5 tugs and ballast adjustments the vessel was safely refloated. This work was accomplished with Wijsmueller Salvage.

SEA CLOUD

St. Croix, USVI; Salvage – 450′ container ship was stranded at the entrance to St. Croix. RESOLVE and JV partner, Svitzer Salvage, refloated the vessel with assistance of tugs and the internal transfer of onboard fuel and ballasting.

INDEPENDIENTE

Nassau, Bahamas; Salvage/Tow – 580′ bulk cement carrier was grounded and sustained significant bottom damage including running gear, breached fuel tanks, ballast tanks and void spaces. RESOLVE stabilized the vessel, conducted temporary hull repairs, lightered the fuel and contaminated ballast water and towed her from Nassau to Freeport, Bahamas.

ITB MOBILE

Sabine Pass, Texas; Salvage – 400′ integrated tug / barge was stranded at the entrance to Sabine Pass. RESOLVE lightered approximately 20,000 barrels of gasoline, refloated the vessel and redelivered her safely to her owners.

APACHE (Barge)

Plantation Key, Florida; Salvage – 450′ Liquid Natural Gas tank barge ran aground following a hurricane. She was refloated by developing an exit channel through the sensitive coral reef and sea grass system.

POLYHRONIS

New Orleans, Louisiana; Salvage – 750′ vessel was stranded ‘high and dry’ on the bank of the Mississippi River during the passage of Hurricane Katrina. RESOLVE along with JV partner, Svitzer Salvage, refloated her using a combination of ballast management and tug boats.

DBL-152 (Barge)

Sabine Pass, Texas; Salvage – 450′ fuel barge hit a submerged object and subsequently capsized and sank 25 miles offshore from Sabine Pass, Texas. RESOLVE responded by lightering all of her cargo (No. 6 Diesel Fuel), stabilized, refloated and towed the capsized vessel to Theodore, Alabama. At Theodore, RESOLVE crews cleaned all the tanks and removed the deckhouse before redelivering the barge to its owner.

TERRA FERRE 502 (Barge)

New York / New Jersey; Salvage – 296′ dump scow barge capsized while transporting a cargo of dredging materials. RESOLVE towed the vessel to dry dock at Bayonne, New Jersey where she was righted and redelivered to her owners in stable condition.

BAY TITAN

Miami, Florida; Salvage – 5,000 hp tug capsized while entering the Port of Miami with a container barge in tow. RESOLVE disconnected the container barge from the tug and towed it into port, removed 60,000 gallons of diesel fuel from the tug, righted and refloated. The tug was towed to the Port of Miami / Miami River and redelivered to owners.

ALEKSANDR POKRYSHKIN

Port of Cortes, Honduras; Salvage – 797′ fully laden tanker was grounded inside the Bay of Cortes. RESOLVE and JV partner, Wijsmuller Salvage, lightered 6,000 metric tons of fuel oil from the casualty and refloated the vessel.

ALBERT E. WATTS

Mobile Bay, Alabama; Wreck Removal – 592 ft T-2 tanker partially submerged in Mobile Bay after approximately 30 years of use by the U.S. Coast Guard as a fire test platform. The vessel contained a large quantity of hazardous materials including asbestos, PCB’s, lead paint, mercury, oily waste, etc. The deteriorated condition precluded it from being towed. RESOLVE remediated and dismantled the vessel in-place with full involvement and compliance of federal, state and local agencies.

CONTRADER

Nassau, Bahamas; Salvage – 400′ vessel capsized at the dock during a hurricane. RESOLVE and JV partner, Titan, removed fuel and righted the vessel prior to redelivering her in a stable condition to her owners.

FORTUNE EPOCH

Savannah, Georgia; Salvage – 600′ multipurpose RoRo general cargo vessel sustained a gash to the hull and subsequently fuel and ballast tanks breached. RESOLVE removed the fuel and installed a semi-permanent underwater patch to enable the vessel to safely transit to a dry dock.

M/V ALOUETTE ARROW

Cape Canaveral, FL; Salvage – Loaded freighter from Germany in route into the Port Of Cape Canaveral grounded on a shoal. A RESOLVE salvage master and salvage engineer identified a safe exit path, deballasted her forward tanks and connected a Seabulk tug. Vessel was refloated within 12-hours of the time she ran aground.

M/V CONTI SEATTLE

Miami, FL; Salvage – 35,000-ton container vessel ran hard aground when it lost steering while entering the port of Miami. Vessel was effectively blocking the Miami, Florida channel. RESOLVE mobilized salvage team and equipment. Lightered 500 tons of containers, de-ballasted the vessel and with 5 tugs re-floated the vessel. All accomplished within 19 hours of being hired.

LSD SPIEGEL GROVE

Key Largo, FL; Artificial Reefing – Ex US Navy vessel capsized while being sunk for an artificial reef off Key Largo, Florida. RESOLVE mobilized salvage team, salvage vessel and equipment. By inducing 2,500 tons of air into the port side of the vessel, attaching 500 tons of airlift bags and by using 2 tugs RESOLVE was able to successfully sink the vessel onto her starboard side.

DRY-DOCK FUTURE

Tampa, FL; Salvage – This dry-dock 220′ x 105′ experienced a major hull failure in Tampa, Florida when a 300 ton end section of the dock failed. We mobilized our salvage vessel and crane barge. Using a guillotine type we cut off the 300-ton end section. Our divers sealed this end. We then installed 20 electric and hydraulic pumps, patched hundreds of holes and opening and refloated this wreck. RESOLVE then sealed the wreck hull and towed it to New Orleans, La. where we sold for scrap.

M/T PATRIOT

Florida Straits; Fire Response – This loaded oil tanker experienced an engine room fire while underway off the Florida Straits. RESOLVE provided a fire fighting strike team to the vessel. The team boarded the vessel and made entry into the engine room. Our team determined the cause of the fire and she was then towed into port.

M/V HOLIDAY

Cancun, Mexico; Salvage – This Carnival Cruise ship ran aground off Cancun, Mexico. It had 2,400 people aboard. RESOLVE’s salvage master, salvage engineer and assistant salvage master worked with the Carnival team reinforced deck fittings to secure tugs, shifted fuels and removed all possible jettison weight including life boats and 160 tons of passengers. With a tug attached we refloated the vessel with no bottom damage.
